After using Nuffield and Leyland tractors for many years (Nuffield DM4, DM3, 460, 1060, 1042, 465 and Leyland 384, 285 and 2100), the question I'd like to ask other readers is has anyone ever run a 1060 and a 465 side-by-side? I did so for several years and found the 1060 had a far superior wheel grip. So I'm wondering if anyone else would like to comment on this point? I feel that Nuffield got the balance all wrong, shifting the fuel tank to the front and lengthening the tractor. I could never see any other reason for the loss of wheel grip. In the 465's favour, though, I have to say that it coped better with heavy, mounted implements.
