When Ken Bruner's previous race engine grenaded on the dyno chasing a big horsepower number, it became the catalyst for building one of the most successful deck-plated Cummins engines in competition today. Bruner, who owns Capital Diesel Performance in Windsor, CA, teamed up with Fleece Performance and Freedom Racing Engines to develop a more robust Cummins platform. The result was a 6.8L deck-plated Cummins engine built around a Hamilton Cam competition wet block that Freedom Racing Engines filled and deck-plated for maximum rigidity.
